Crumbs & Dusting
Regular dusting every few days or so is the best way to keep your farmhouse table and furniture looking great and prevent dust from settling on the wood. Soft cloths and feather dusters work best.
You will most likely get dust or crumbs in the cracks on your table. A vacuum is an easy fix to rid of them. If you have a sticky substance in the cracks use a soft bristle brush and water.
The finish is durable and resistant to most household spills. However, spills should be wiped up promptly to avoid potential problems. For most routine cleaning, a soft cloth slightly dampened with water will do the trick. Do not use any harsh abrasives, chemical cleaners, or polishes!
Heat & Moisture
As the old adage goes, prevention is always better than cure. In the case of solid wood tables, it's a good idea not to leave water and moisture rings on the table for very long. When serving meals, you can use place mats and a tablecloth to protect the table from moisture, food and spills. Hot dishes should always be served atop a hot pad or rack. Glasses and mugs can be placed on coasters.
Follow the steps above to maintain a quality finish and your farmhouse table and furniture will be a long-lasting symbol of timeless beauty.
